Developments in Security Cameras

Of course, everyone has seen enough of them in the movies and TV. Not only that, you should have seen them in malls, department stores and even in elevators. Security cameras have been part of the security measures of different establishments for quite some time now. This is because camera security offers a reliable record of all things that transpired in the area that it’s watching. As they say, the camera never lies.

There are different camera security systems that are in use today. Depending on the camera, you can capture not only video, but also the audio within its vicinity. Also, you have cameras today that are capable of movement; you can see cameras that can swing on an axis for wider area coverage. Aside from that, some cameras are also equipped with motion sensors that enable the cameras to follow the movement of a specific target for a better look at the possible culprit. You also have wireless cameras that can be easily installed in places where it’s difficult to lay out cables and wires.

The method of recording the images has changed too. Before, camera security systems are hooked up to a VCR or a recording deck. This can be expensive, as you need to have several tapes available to have enough to record a single day. Nowadays, you can find cameras that can record directly on a DVD, which has a higher data capacity compared with tape cartridges. Not only that, DVDs are comparably cheaper and easier to store than your VHS tapes
